I. Our Commitment and Mission  
    
1. College Mission
The College of Public Administration was formally founded in June 2001 after the successful incorporation of the Sichuan University. Young as it is, it carry out teaching, research and public service missions, aims at  (1) promote cross-disciplinary cooperation between applied social sciences and humanities, so as social sciences and natural sciences; (2) facilitate academic developments in various fields of study; (3) promote trans-disciplinary research.

The College of Public Administration takes its honorable responsibility of promoting political and economic developments of China, realizing the goal of building a harmonious society  (1) by serving the society, taking its needs seriously, and striving for social developments;(2) by providing the society with well educated, high-leveled and   practice-oriented public administrators; (3) by pursuing applied research and professional consultation.

The College is composed of 9 departments along with a religious research institute. They are Philosophy Department, Social and Psychological Department, Administrative Management Department, Secretarial Science Department, Information Management Technology Department, Information Resources Management Department, Social Security and Services Department, Public Affairs and Policy Department and Land Resources and Real Estate Management Department.

2. Academic Programs and Majors
The College now offers 1 Ph D program in religious research, 17 master programs in philosophy, public administration, library science, science management and engineering, applied sociology, sociology, psychology and 8 undergraduate degree programs in four basic disciplines. They are philosophy, management, laws and education. We also provide one professional degree program – the MPA.

3. Faculty and Staff
The College of Public Administration has a current total teaching staff of 128, of whom 36 are professors and 39 are associate professors. On record, the College has one outstanding national-wide professor, one professor serves on the Academic Assessment Committee of the State Council; five professors are serving as the members of the Committee of the State Education Ministry; one professor is classified as the Cross-century Excellent Talent; and eight professors are titled academic leaders of the Sichuan Province.

4.  Student Population
Our school has a current student population of more than 2300 including 1,507 undergraduate students (63% of the student population), 785 postgraduate students (33%), and 75 doctoral students (4%).   

5. Student Cultivation
The School of Public Administration is aim to provide our students with various opportunities to learn and to grow, we focus on faculty-student interactions, peer-support-learning program, academic exchanges and internship opportunities, etc. Our final goal is to support students’ all-round development and to provide professional training, nurturing knowledgeable and competent graduates for the community at large.

The School strives to enhance our teaching-quality and foster excellent learning environment and meaningful learning experience. The Student Affairs Office serves students and facilitates their all-round development. SAO put a great deal of effort to organize various academic activities and social practices to train the students problem-solving skills and social responsibility. The student union made remarkable achievements over the past year.
